First Medic Ambulance Service of Ransom County began service in 1989. We provide service to the city of Lisbon and also to Ransom County, ND.
First Medic Ambulance provides service 24 hour per day, 7-days a week. Our advanced life support (ALS) Paramedic Response serves a population of aproximately 10,000 people within our service area. Our staff are activated by the 911 system through statewide dispatching. We maintain two crews on-call at all times and respond to aproximately 500 calls each year.
First Medic also provides basic and advanced life support ambulance services and medical support standby services for rodeos, auto races, county fairs and other special events as requested. We schedule 1 ALS and 1BLS ambulance and crew on-call every day. Many times we have two ALS crews available in the community. Our local fleet of 3 ambulances in Lisbon are all equipped with advanced life support supplies and medications.
We work closely with the Lisbon Area Health Services and hospital where we transport a majority of our emergency patients. Critical trauma and tertiary care transfers are taken to Fargo, ND and other hospitals as directed by the patient's physician.
